Rodneys 2006 summer tour is finally over and he will be locked up in a recording studio for most of the rest of the year with a few shows sprinkled in to keep him in practice. After 10,000 miles driven in his van, many hours in airplanes, and many mornings waking up with a startled, "Where the hell am I at?" Rodney would say that the tour was a definite success over all. The Summer of 2006 will be remembered as the time when South London discovered the ambidextrous guitar player and the new audiences all over the States would say, "Wow, he sings."

January will be the month for the start of Rodney's next tour and the last transformation from folk singer to rock star will be complete. The winter tour through the Southern US will be with the three piece band that Rodney has been rehearsing and writing for the new album to be released in 2007.

The band will consist of Dan Walzer on the drums and Amos Heller on bass guitar. Rodney will be playing guitars and anything with strings, keys, or anything that makes noise when you rub it, strum it, or hit it with a stick. A very exciting time for the house of Rodney. Cheers.

6 Day Riot

Danish multi-instrumentalist Soren Bonke met Scottish singer-songwriter Tamara Schlesinger via mutual friends at a gig in London in 2004 and was soon enlisted to play guitar on Tamara's debut solo album. The recording went very well and they proceeded to tour live across the UK with the rest of Tamara's band; promoting the album which garnered excellent reviews and national airplay. It was during this period that their creative collaboration intensified as they started to develop exciting new songs that fused Soren's musicianship and arrangement skills with Tamara's flair for hooky melodies and compelling lyrics to create a distinctive new sound. This was clearly now no longer a solo project and 6 day riot was born.

The band's self-produced demo caught the interest of legendary producer Steve Levine and the three immediately set about re-recording the standout tracks from the demo before developing a number of other new tracks, each defining and exploring their burgeoning sound more than the last. This fusion of Steve's vast experience, passion and technical know-how with Tamara and Soren's talent and flair has led them into some exciting new musical territory

The pair were joined by Jonathan Beyer on upright bass and Daniel Deavin on drums and together the band have struck the perfect balance between their foot-stompingly raucous proclivities, as evidenced by their live performances, and the intricate and compelling nuances they've successfully committed to their debut record. The result is an outstanding collection of songs that fully evokes the world of this remarkable new band.

The 6 day riot sound is both eclectic and at the same time entirely integrated - harnessing banjos, ukeleles, guitars and accordians with Eastern European folk beats, bluegrass rhythms, distorted guitars and infectious pop melodies to create a style of music utterly their own.
IM'N'IM

(Do not confuse with EMINEM who is a famous RAP artist and only one person)

Sporting two acoustic guitars and occasionally two kazoos, Colin (Bad Penny) Webb and Richard (Hot Lips) Elmer play and sing a mixture of terrific but obscure songs making absolutely sure they stay that way. From ragtime to richtime, (richtime is Elmer's strange way of keeping tempo), their unique vocal and playing style brings to these songs a musical quality that can only be guessed at.

Do not miss the Fab 2.

They are currently working on their new album `SWINGALONGAIM`N'IM' which, for the less discerning music lovers, should be available at the festival.

My earliest musical memories are of the traditional jazz albums that my folks used to play and I spent hours listening to Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals like Carousel and South Pacific, which I still love to this day.

I decided I wanted to study music and performing, more seriously. So I undertook a Performing Arts degree at De Montfort University, Leicester. During my time as a student I was able to spend a whole year just studying Grainger. One of my music teachers was the composer, Gavin Bryars!

In 1990, having heard Lost Lady Found, Fairport Convention invited me to perform with them at the Cropredy Festival to sing songs by the late Sandy Denny.

The next project was a kind of Sandy Denny tribute band. This involved the original members of Fotheringhay, the band that Sandy formed, with Jerry Donahue, Pat Donaldson, Gerry Conway and Doug Morter (replacing Trevor Lucas).

Having recorded the Sandy album and the musical mayhem of the trio, I was very keen to embark on a new recording that would feature more of the songs that I had written and so Movers and Shakers was born.
This album is made up mostly of my own songs plus two from my gifted friend Chris Conway and a couple of traditional songs that I love.

I now have a new album called Looking at the Stars. Of course I will always sing folk songs, they were my first love and the songs of Lincolnshire are very dear to my heart, and I will continue to sing Sandy's songs, they are a joy to perform but I've always known that there are many songs in me yet to be written and so this might be the path I'll be taking for a while.
